Q. How does FINRA use my fingerprints for background checks?

A. As a federal-level Authorized Recipient, FINRA collaborates with the FBI to conduct a thorough background check based on the fingerprints you provide. Typically, your firm will receive the results within 72 hours of your fingerprinting appointment.

Q. How are my fingerprints sent to FINRA?

A. Through our partnership with PrintScan, an approved Electronic Fingerprint Submission (EFS) provider, your fingerprints are transmitted directly to FINRA in an electronic format. Q. How comprehensive is a FINRA background check?

A. A FINRA background check, conducted in partnership with the FBI, provides a detailed and comprehensive review of the individual’s history.
